Above the Law??

  • April 1, 2012 4:16 pm

I wrote about this show earlier this month (Standing Up For What I Believe In) – and now I am even more disgusted than I already was! It’s one thing to have a show like this to show at 10 PM, when children, adolescents, preteens and teenagers are in bed; however, it is completely another when a network television blatantly crosses the line and breaks the law.

Yes, you read that right – ABC is planning on breaking the lawFederal Law.

ABC’s show, GCB, which has had a lot of controversy in its wake, in the Christian community, and in some women’s groups, now appear to be looking to bring in an even younger demographic of viewers. At present, the show runs at 10PM on Sundays; however, if ABC gets away with breaking the law, that will change.

ABC is looking to move the show to an earlier time slot on Sunday nights. Starting with, you’ll be shocked to hear (or maybe not), Easter Sunday. A very VERY special day for Christians – the day our Lord and Savior defeated death and Satan and rose from the grave. ABC is doing a trial run of the show and intend to air two original shows, the first at 9 PM, and the second at the current time slot of 10 PM. Because Desperate Housewives is in its last season, ABC needs to replace the show, so they are considering GCB as the 9 PM alternate for next season.

So, it wasn’t enough that ABC aired their degrading and insulting show at 10:00pm to adults; now, they wish to include our very impressible teenagers with this program.

As I stated earlier, this is in direct violation of Federal Law. Obsenity, Indecency, and Profanity are prohibited between the hours of 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM.

Why is it that the media outlets such as ABC think they are above the law?

We need to fight this and contact the FCC immediately and let them know of our displeasure with this show and especially the fact that they intend on airing it at 9 PM.
