A House Full of Girls and a HUGE Crush!

  • June 17, 2010 12:23 am

You know, kids are so funny. One of our friends girls has this super sense of smell. It is so good, that her mother can have lunch with me, see her kids at home when she gets home later and this one girl (Kassie) will immediately smell her mother and tell her, “you’ve been with Michelle!”

After this happened, I began to notice that Kassie’s sense of smell is a big thing for her. She will stick her nose in the air and sniff around searching for a specific scent…which at present happens to be on my brother. Today while having lunch, my brother came in and sat down at the table to talk to us. Suddenly I noticed Kassie slowing leaning over to smell Stephen..the he notices and pulls away, giving her a strange look and says “get away from me”. Kassie sits back down for a second, then as soon as Stephen is not looking again, she leans back in to get a good sniff…

At this point, Kassie’s older sister Courtney, who has noticed what Kassie is doing leans in from the other side to smell Stephen. Stephen who is in the process of trying to dodge Kassie, puts himself right in the line of fire for Courtney.  He, realizing that they were both doing it decided he’d better just leave. So as he tries to scoot out of nose reach of one, he is headed for the nose of the other..he gets up and does this funny side step around away from the table and through the door, (very contortionist looking from where I sat) with 2 girls at his heels noses sniffing away. After fits of laughter, I finally tell them to leave poor Stephen alone.

Everyone one of these girls from the youngest at 7 to the oldest at 14 has a crush on my poor brother. They are totally fascinated…although they know that he he is 43 (looks more like early 30’s), has a grandkid….he just smells soooooo darned good. The youngest of the bunch, Destiny, just stares in wonder at Stephen…ESPECIALLY when he picks up his guitar and begins singing. Even I must admit he has a voice that is soothing to the soul and quiet pleasant to the ears! But as far as his “smell” goes…I usually tell him he smells like a…hmmmm…better not say that here…LOL!!
